About me

My Journey
My journey began on the front line, nursing victims from one of the worst railway accidents in 20th British century history, Ladbroke Grove rail crash 1999. This experience ignited an inner passion for what became a decade long career in the Emergency Department, at one of London's busiest and leading hospitals, Saint Mary's - Imperial College London.
I worked independently as a minor injuries nurse practitioner, later advancing to senior clinical nurse manager. This experience fueled my appetite for precision, process mapping, and Clinical Skills procedures, leading to my contribution as an author to the inaugural edition of the Oxford Handbook of Emergency Nursing in 2009.
Developing strong empathy, advanced communication, and interpersonal skills led to extended projects in mediation and change management. These skills were utilized to enhance patient care pathways for Dementia, resulting in my contribution to another publication titled 'Taking the Anxiety Out of Dementia' in 2009.
During my OE in Sydney in 2004, I worked as a clinical trials data collection nurse, along with being community care manager for a complex spinal patient. On leaving the ED, I worked as a trainer providing mandatory training of clinical skills to a wide variety of healthcare professionals, including assisting with the nationwide training of pharmacists for the rollout of the Boots flu vaccination launch.
In the past decade, I refined my injecting skills at one of New Zealand’s top cosmetic franchises. I became their lead national trainer, overseeing a team of trainers, managing nationwide adverse events, and contributed to policy development during a period of substantial business growth and amidst the challenges of Covid-19.
